I went over the expectations with students today regarding where they should be by the break. All jot notes should be completed and the short answer sheet in the research folder filled in (including a labeled sketch of their Maverick). The students have been encouraged, if they are done the aforementioned, to start a Google doc and work on the paragraphs. The three Paragraphs are framed around early life, contributions (the good or important things they did) and legacy (how we have recognized their contributions and the ways in which they made Alberta a better place). We will be spending time over the next couple of school days talking about paragraph structure and will continue to work on them after the break.

The students in Room 18 are learning to model long division in more than one way. One of those involves the use of base ten blocks. The video linked below will give you an idea of how it works.
We have been learning about partial quotient division in Mathematics. Below is a document that contains a pretty good explanation of the process.
